Short Biography
Dr. Qing Yu is a physician-scientist and co-founder of SunnyInnovation (Hangzhou) Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. He received his Ph.D. in Oncology from Zhejiang University under the supervision of Professor Yi Sun, focusing on cullin neddylation, CRL biology, and the discovery of small-molecule anti-cancer agents. His research training covered ubiquitination/neddylation biochemistry, molecular biology, structural biology-informed drug discovery, and high-throughput screening, including experience at leading academic institutions and collaborative work involving the National Compound Library. This work contributed to an integrated biochemical and cellular platform for discovering and validating neddylation-targeting anti-cancer agents. He later worked in oncology clinical practice, gaining firsthand insight into unmet clinical needs and real-world challenges in anti-cancer drug development. In 2024, he co-founded SunnyInnovation to advance original therapeutics based on ubiquitin-like modification and targeted protein degradation.
Presentation Topic: Unlocking Tissue-Selective Protein Degradation: PROTAC Development Powered by a Novel RING E3 Ligase
• Proof-of-concept findings showing a RING E3 can be harnessed for targeted protein degradation
• Preliminary evidence supporting the tumor-tissue selectivity and its potential to enable differentiated degrader design
• A platform-oriented strategy for developing next-generation degraders by expanding beyond conventional CRBN/VHL-based PROTAC approaches
