    Short Biography

    Dr Zhihong (Sarah) Lu is currently the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Shanghai Zhimeng Biopharma, Inc. and in charge of the global clinical development and regulatory affair of all company products.

    Dr Lu was trained in both clinical medicine (MD) and Pharmacology (PhD). She received her medical training from Shanghai Medical University (now part of Fudan), specialized in Neurology and did her MD fellowship in Neuro-endocrinology from University of Virginia. She also passed the US medical board exam. She obtained her PhD in Pharmacology and postdoctoral in clinical pharmacology from University of Alabama at Birmingham. 

    Dr Lu is a seasoned clinical development expert with over 25 years of industrial experiences. She has served leadership roles in multiple MNCs, local Chinese Pharms and Biotech. Such as, the CMO of BioShin (acquired by Pfizer as part of Pfizer/Biohaven deal), President of global development of Green Valley, VP, head of clinical development of Simcere, Senior Director of GSK in charge of global development strategies and planning for all CNS TA early development, Senior Clinical Program Director of UCB etc. Under her leadership, more than 30 small and large molecules made significant progress in clinical development. As the global clinical development lead, she successfully obtained Levetiracetam (Keppra) marketing approvals for multiple indications in more than 60 countries, marketing approvals of Briveracetam for epilepsy in US and EU, marketing approvals of abatacept for RA, edaravone & borneol fixed-dose combination for stroke, and rimegepant for migraine in China.
